To defend the player with the ball more effectively in a basketball match, the application of techniques are analyzed.Starting from the trend and request of defending techniques in modern basketball match,we also specially study the content of technical concept:the development in five aspects of technical application, the arrangement,offensive and creativity of techniques to defend the player holding the ball when he stays in the center, wing or guard position.Then the authors give the main framework,goal and the important content for the technical training in defending the player with the ball.
